“25:

Five visions from different artists.

At Meadville Council on the Arts current exhibit, ・25: Five Works by Five Artists” there’s something for every visitor.

From Lauren Dietrich’s super-sized (and I mean SUPER-SIZED) sculptures of a slice of carrot cake or a chocolate ice crem dessert that makes the visitors mouth water to ceramic artist Ainsley Kissell’s “architectural ceramic sculptures” one that portrays a swanky house on the edge of the water.

Nicole Sinciline’s painting, “Coming Undone,” is a doleful portrait of a young woman (a self portrait?) gazing into a mirror. Meanwhile, Sinciline’s “Reflection” is an abstact work that hints at a neverland landscape.

Delaney Maitland’s paintings sometimes features the emptiness of public places. “East Hall on a Winter Evening” gives the viewer a sight of a deserted university space. “A Crocodile Man Lives in My Basement” shows a steep, foreboding stairwell where the unseen creature lives.

A unique medium—blue ballpoint pen—is used by Olivia Sutton, who uses this artistic choice to “convey fine detail while creating an atmospheric haze evocative of the natural fading of old photographs.” “Subway Ride” is a quiet study in blue as two young boys lost in their own thoughts. “Central Park” (above) is an old-timey image probably captured from a photo, showing a man with young girl on his shoulders.

Come see something you’ll love.
