The Erie Playhouse kicks off the 2025 Season

ERIE, PA (January 1, 2025) The Erie Playhouse kicks off the 2025 Season of Soaring Tales and Epic Adventures with the hit Broadway musical, WAITRESS, featuring memorable music and lyrics by GRAMMY Award winner Sara Bareilles. 

Jenna, played by Rebecca Keim in her Playhouse debut, a waitress and expert pie-maker, dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage. A county baking contest — and a handsome new doctor played by Kyle Filbeck — offer her a tempting recipe for happiness. Supported by her sweet and sassy crew of fellow waitresses (Lizdel Collado-Monahan and Shawna Daisley) and customers, Jenna’s tale reveals the power of friendship and the courage to take chances. 

Directed by Trisha Yates (who is also the Playhouse PLAYtime Coordinator), WAITRESS is adapted from the 2007 film, and is a satisfying celebration of friendship, motherhood and the magic of a homemade pie.

Premiere Weekend of WAITRESS kicks off with general admission tickets – now just $18 – available for January 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m., with regular performances continuing through February 9.
