YOU’RE INVITED TO “CHAOS AT THE WEDDING”

Meadville Community Theatre Presents

A World Premiere Musical

MEADVILLE, PA –Meadville Community Theatre will host the world premiere of a new musical farce, Chaos at the Wedding,” this weekend June 21, 22 at 7:30 pm, and 23 at 2:00 pm.

The play is a hilarious send up of modern relationships that follows friends Annelise and Michelle as they go to be bridesmaids for their friend Sandy. Each has plans to find “special connections” at the wedding.

But just as in life, nothing ever goes as planned, with quirky parents, a fierce caterer, a hapless minister, and an unruly band all bringing chaos to the event.

There will be a happy ending, of course, since this is a farce. But the road to get there will be filled with laughter, upbeat songs, and unexpected surprises.

Local playwright Joshua Searle-White wrote the script in collaboration with Philadelphia-area composer and lyricist Bob Michel.

Beth Watkins directs, with stage manager LeeAnn Yeckley, set and lighting designer Jess Sakal, costume designer Tonya Reed, and choreographer Jill Hyatt all contributing their talents.

The production features a range of veteran and new Meadville-area actors including Ahmaya Andrews, Sylvia Cagle, Meadow Campbell, Elizabeth DeMarco, Jennifer Hellwarth, P. Todd Fox, Vidal Mangal, Daniel McGaffin, Madison Morgan, Ron Mumme, Jason Sakal, Lee Scandinaro, Joshua Searle-White, Autumn Vogel and Dan Winston.

The location is MCT’s theater in the Odd Fellows building on Allegheny College’s campus, 400 N. Main Street in Meadville. Tickets can be purchased at mctbackstage.com/tickets, by calling (814) 333-1773, or at the door. It runs approximately 90 minutes and is appropriate for those 14 years of age and older.
