Good Times Chill ‘n Grill
Good Times Chill ‘n Grill 114 E. State St., Albion Tony B might be dating himself, but he remembers when this location used to be a pizza joint in the 1970’s. And the only long-term drive-in in Albion was the Bob-In, next to NAPA. Anyone…? Since then, the site has gone through a lot of owners, Cakery Cafe and another unremembered ice cream stand recently, yet I feel this one might have a chance. Seems like there’s always someone ordering or waiting to pick up their food when I drive by. The cheeseburger and hot dog we had hit the spot and the chocolate milkshake made the hot day when we ate there a little more pleasant.
My gripes? The large chocolate ice cream cones are disappointing; they’re mediums at best. Maybe the new workers just need to learn how to size them? Also, they should consider instituting a no-smoking policy at the site. While waiting for a chocolate milkshake (Yeah, I like chocolate, okay?) I had to keep dodging the second-hand smoke from an ignorant old lady who’d lit up a cancer stick and was loitering nearby. Ick. People.
